In 1980 Frank Rider had an inventive brainstorm; take an old hot air balloon and transform it into an advertising inflatable that would steal the show wherever it was seen. He built the first one in his garage and his ambitious idea forged the groundwork that became Boulder Blimp Company. An innovative sign artist and active ballooning instructor and pilot, Frank's entrepreneurial talents were well suited to flourish in this developing industry.
